Phase 3: The Engine Rebuild

01 FEB 2027 - 30 APR 202730-50 min sessions9,000-9,500 steps/day

Reference & templates

1Phase Intent

Shift into longer low-impact endurance marches and higher aerobic capacities as the body drops below the 240 lb mark. The engine is bigger now — sessions that would have wrecked you in Phase 1 are routine. This phase also carries the Ramadan 2027 Protocol (estimated 08 FEB - 09 MAR) — the book breaks in with the full Suhoor/Iftar restructure, PT timing (~40 min before Iftar), and Halal sourcing notes right where those dates land in the Phase 3 entries.

What to watch for

Overconfidence is the real risk in this phase, not lack of motivation. More energy and visible progress make it tempting to skip the joint-protection standing order. Don't. Low-impact isn't a Phase 1 rule you graduate out of.

2General Orders (still in effect)

Every phase runs on the same non-negotiables: zero red meat, zero pork, zero alcohol, zero quinoa. 1,500-1,600 calories/day. 18:6 intermittent fasting, eating window 1300-1900. Joint protection — no running, no jumping jacks, no heavy rucking. One gallon of water minimum, daily.

3Meal Rotation This Phase

The book cycles through 12 global cuisines on a repeating 12-day rotation, with 5 rotating meal variants per cuisine so the specific dishes change every several weeks. This is one representative dish set per cuisine — the book has the full Suhoor/lunch/snack/dinner breakdown with exact calories for all weeks 27-39.

4PT Progression This Phase

Sessions run 30-50 minutes: extended incline marches (7-9% grade), bike endurance pacing, resistance circuits with step-ups, and continuous swim/pool endurance sessions. During Ramadan (est. 08 FEB - 09 MAR 2027), every session moves to ~40 minutes before Iftar and drops one intensity notch — see the Ramadan Protocol.

Step target

9,000-9,500 steps/day, same as tracked on your Field Medical Card every night.

5Ramadan Protocol & Halal Sourcing (2027)

Ramadan 2027 is estimated to run 08 Feb – 09 Mar 2027 (30 days, Days 189–218 of the book), confirmed by local moon sighting closer to the date. For those 30 days the book's usual 1300-1900 window is fully replaced:

  • Suhoor — pre-dawn meal, before Fajr. Last food/water until sunset.
  • The Fast — Fajr to Maghrib, nothing crosses your lips. No food, no water, no coffee.
  • Iftar — break the fast at Maghrib, dates and water first, then the main meal.
  • PT placement — moves to ~40 minutes before Iftar, one intensity notch below phase-normal. Shower immediately after, then Iftar.
  • Hydration — all of it happens between Iftar and the next Suhoor, spread deliberately rather than front-loaded.
Why Halal matters here

Halal meat (zabihah) requires a healthy animal, a swift humane cut draining the blood fully, and Allah's name invoked over the act — thorough blood draining is also a real food-safety upside. This book's existing ban on pork and alcohol already overlaps with Halal law, and every protein in the rotation (chicken, turkey, white fish, shrimp) is available Halal-certified. Full explainer in the book, right at the start of the Ramadan Protocol pages.
